The UK childhood immunisation schedule was revised in September 2006 to include:
- The introduction of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine to protect against pneumococcal infection
- A pneumococcal conjugate vaccination catch-up programme for infants aged up to 2 years
- Amendment of the meningococcal group C conjugate vaccination schedule to give two doses of vaccine in the first year of life, and a booster dose in the second year
- The addition of a booster dose of Haemophilus influenzae type b conjugate vaccine in the second year of life.
